What The Heart Wants

He waited for her to return before they both headed towards the elevator, Slick still remaining silent. Maybe he was too forward. Of course he blew it like an idiot.

Missy started humming softly, a small smile on her face. "I think, I'll miss you when you leave. None of my other patients are nearly as interesting."

He glanced up at her when she spoke, looking back down at his lap. "I ain't that interestin' Missy. There's a lot about me that you probably wouldn't look at me twice for."

"Don't be silly Jack." Missy replied. "I find everyone interesting in some way." She smiled at him as she wheeled him into his room. "No matter who they are or what they do"

She had no idea. He glanced up at her, giving her a soft smile. "You know, we could still see each other after I check out." He suggested.

"Why, Mr. Noir, Are you asking me on a date?" Missy teased with a smile.

"...I could be." He mused with a small smile. "I guess that depends on your answer. I mean, I'm pretty sure ya hear it from a lotta patients."

"Not at all" Missy smiled. "Even less with who my brother is"

"Ah, that doesn't scare me." Jack said, knowing full well he had a right hand man to lead Sleuth from his trail. "And dang, looks like I'm the lucky braveheart."

Missy smiled. "So you going to woo me proper then, mister Noir?"

"It's been a while since I've pitched woo, but for you, I'm willin' to try anything." Jack said with a wink.

Missy giggled. "And what will you do about Spencer?" she asked

"I have my ways." Jack hummed softly. "Spence doesn't need to be involved right now. Till things move on- if they do."

"Just don't hurt him, mind you, he's sensitive" Missy giggled. "And tell Mr. Droog the same thing"

"You got it." He said. Droog was never supposed to hurt him anyway. Just send him on goose chases.

"Do you need help back into the bed?" Missy asked with a smile.
