Josh looked absolutely livid but didn't respond.

John looked really upset.

Jade kept her head down as she continued to cry.

Jeff let out a nervous cough, looking to Robert. "Is there anything I can do to help?"

"No. In light of recent events, I think hits best if I wrap up our gathering early" Robert replied, his voice hard and cold.

Out front Karkat sat on the porch, crying, holding his face with one hand while Jane had the arm of his sweatshirt pulled up so she could examine his arm.

Jane was fixing up a bandage and murmuring soothing things to the small teenager.

"Are you sure?"

Jake was quiet as he passed Jane and Karkat.

"Quite sure" Robert replied.

"You need to calm down before you get sick" Jane murmured, only just loud enough for Jake to hear.

"Why bother" Karkat sobbed "Nobody likes me anyway, I'm just gonna wind up dead anyway"

Jeff nodded at him. "Well....this was fun while it lasted. Thanks for dinner, Robert."

Jake went past them, going to his house across the street.

"I'm sorry you had to witness that." Robert replied

Jeff shrugged at him. "Shit happens. Familys fight. We've had our own share of fights. I'm sure this will all blow over."

Dick was silent as he stood up, leaving.

Dave had moved to Jade's side, trying to comfort her.

Tavros was sitting hunched in on himself.

John wasn't sure what to do.

"I'll send John or Jane over with left overs for you later" Robert stated

Jeff nodded at him again. "And you're sure there's nothing I can do to help?"

"Quite sure." Robert replied once again.

Jeff nodded as he stood. He looked over to Dave, who was still comforting Jade. "I'll let him come home when he's ready. Later Robbie." He grabbed Jo by the hand leading her from the backyard.

"Jeffery, You may want to stop your brother before Josh shoots him. And he will if he continues to pursue Jakob, especially after that stunt." Robert warned.

Jeff shrugged at the older man. "Oh well. Not my fault he can't keep it in his pants. Maybe he'll learn a lesson if Josh at least decks him. Plus, Jake looks like a strong kid. Maybe he'll punch Dick's...dick."

Robert shrugged. "Maybe. All I know is if he can't behave himself, he won't be invited."

"Fair enough. Later Robbie."

"Goodbye Jefferey" Robert replied, standing.

After his younger twins siblings got to their house, Dick left his car to lean against Jake's jeep.

Jane shot him a nasty look from across the street, watching as everyone else left as well, Slick herding Karkat into the car.

Jake was leaving his house a few minutes later with a backpack and Cat in his arms. Dick whistled at the young man as he approached the jeep. "Hey, hot stuff. Going somewhere? I know of a nice hotel nearby. Soft beds. Great with a nice fuck or two."

"Fuck off."

Jane turned and went back into her house.

Jake glared at her as she went inside. He tensed when Dick put an arm around him. "Don't be this way. I'm being a nice guy and I'm getting the cold shoulder. Besides, you look like you could use a good fuck."

Jake turned his glare to Dick. "I don't need sex. I don't need you. Leave me alone. You're not nice. You're a disgusting pig." Cat yowled and hissed, landing on his broken leg when Dick backhanded Jake and split his lip.

"Don't be such a fucking bitch."

Josh had been walking across the street when he saw Dick hit Jake. In an instant he slammed Dick against the car, his cane to Dick's neck. "I ought to shoot you between your bloody eyes" he snarled. "For assaulting my grandson like that."

Jake took a step back as blood poured from his lip.

Dick smirked at Josh. "Chill. He got mouthy with me. I had to teach him a lesson."

Josh punched him in the face, snapping the bridge of his glasses.
