Anonymous Eyes

John grinned at Dave. "Sorry I'm late! Dad insisted I bring you guys a cake, which he had to bake fresh" he offered a platter to Dave, on which was a beautiful two tier cake with pink icing. "I think its like my dowry or something" he joked.

Dave took the platter with a raised brow. "Egbert, can I just, like, marry your dad? I don't even get a fucking cake for my birthday." he looked at John. "That or you have to come over more often if I get a cake every time." he moved so John could come in.

John stepped in and closed the door behind him, slipping his backpack from his shoulder. "I brought a couple movies my friend Biz suggested to me for us to watch later" he smiled at Dave. "I hope that's okay"

Holy mother of flying fuck monkeys, that was an impressive cake. He couldn't help but smirk lightly; good old Robby hasn't changed a bit. Just as he was about to greet John with a snarky and, maybe flirtatious comment, his words caught in his throat. A rare feat to say the least. Did he just say 'Biz'?

"Oh."

Dave shrugged, looking over at Bro. "You agreed to give up the big screen tonight didn't you?" he asked. "You can either watch them with us or find something else to do"

John looked over and smiled. "Hi Bro, you haven't changed much"

It took him a record time of extended recovery before he snapped back into his usual rhythm. "'S all good, if you don't mind a geezer like me tuning in to your little bromance fest. "

In other words, yes, he would very much like to watch. Especially with this new turn of events that seems to have come into play.

"Can't say the same about you, Johnny. Looks like those beaver teeth finally cleared out."

"Braces" John grinned "Actually just got them off last year so its still pretty great to be able to chew gum and shit. But just to warn you, you probably won't like the movies, some of them are super sappy"

His only response was a snort and a shrug, his hands going to his pockets as he leaned against the doorframe. "And that makes you think that, kiddo?" He asked with an amused smirk. "You don't know my preferences. Who says I'm not a die hard romantic? Makin' the masses swoon left and right just by breathing in their air."

Then he stood straight, his smirk growing just the slightest. "I'm just fuckin' with you. But seriously, I give no fucks when it comes to movie genres."

Especially since he was the one to recommend them, holy shit.

"Since you're probably gonna just make fun of them anyway, could you at least do it quietly?" John asked, rolling his eyes.

Dave took the cake to the kitchen, struggling a little to get it on the counter. "Jesus fuck Egbert, did your dad make us a fucking pound cake?"

"I can neither confirm nor deny that I may or may not provide my own commentary. You walked into the lion's den, Egbert. Gotta deal with the king now."

He looked over towards Dave, a brow raising in question. "Dude, really? I know I built you up better than that. Complaining about a cake? Really?"

"It is a pretty heavy cake" John vouched.

"Like a ton of fucking bricks" Dave muttered, making sure the cake wasn't going to fall before coming back out. "So who's this Biz guy you've been talking about recently?" he asked

John smiled. "Some guy I met on a movie forum board. He's pretty cool. He's been tossing some cool titles my way"

This time, Bro just flopped down on the futon facedown. Goddamn it, Brodrick. Of all the people to chat up on the internet, it had to be Egderp Jr. He sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. Decision time. Should he just cut off the conversation period? That would be his first option, but he honestly liked talking to John. It was entertaining to say the least.

He sighed heavily. Almost over dramatically.

"we'll pay attention to you in a minute you needy bastard" Dave shot, frowning at him on the futon.

John just chuckled. "Aww, jealous that there's another asshole role model in my life Bro? You don't have to be, we're just movie buddies. I don't even think he lives in this state"

Dave gave a not towards his room. "Let's drop your stuff and get ready for our movie jam"

Bro didn't verbally respond, nor lift his head to look at them. In fact, all he did was raise his hands to give them a double flip-off combo. He wasn't jealous. Nor was he needy.

...Okay the second part was a lie. But there was no way in possible hell that he was jealous. How can one be jealous of themselves? This isn't a parallel universe or some shit.

The boys headed to the bedroom so John could put his stuff down, Dave directing him where to put it so that John would have a clear space on the floor to lay out his sleeping bag.

"So you really like this Biz guy don't you?" Dave smirked.

John flushed a little. "So? I'm allowed to flirt online, its not like it does anything when we can't see each other"

Dave chuckled and shook his head. "Just don't get in too deep, bro" he replied before grabbing a blanket and taking it out to the living room to lay out in front of the tv.

When they came back, Bro was just as he was. The only difference was that his shades were placed carefully on the nearby table so that he didn't squish them or his face. Even when they came around in front of the futon, his eyes were closed, in a relaxed no mental state of Bro.

And as soon as it came, it was gone.

"So what shitty movie are we going to watch?" He asked them.

John grinned and set three cases on the coffee table. "Pretty woman, What women want, and Epic movie." he replied "Biz says its always good to counter the sappy romance with something mind numbingly stupid, to fight the feels"

Dave looked at John and raised an eyebrow. "Who the fuck even gets feels about movies?"

"We could always watch The One" John replied, making Dave scowl.

"I've tried to tone out your feels, Dave, but I've seen you sniveling over that movie." Bro snickered, rolling over on his side to look at the movies. "So which one are we seeing first?" He asked them. They could progress from Pretty Woman down, due to the comedy factor in What Women Want. But that was their choice.

"I think we can start with Pretty woman" John replied. "and we'll be ending with epic movie" He sat on the blanket in front of the futon. "How's that sound Dave?"

Dave shrugged. "It sounds alright to me, you're the one running this show. Should I make popcorn or anything?"

Yes, good John, best movie pupil. He gave an internal nod of approval before shifting just a tad. Suddenly there were a fuck ton of pillows around him. Shifting on the futon? Nothing more than that, no form of flash step to be known, nope. But oh look, this provided a perfect shot of the boys. To which he responded by promptly throwing a really large pillow on top of them both.

John giggled like an idiot and Dave made a noise of frustration.

"Dammit Bro!" he yelled, chucking the pillow back at him.

John got up to put Pretty Woman on, and also get out of the line of fire.

Now now Dave, don't you know to let the flames die down? Obviously not, because Bro easily caught the pillow, bringing it back down on his brother's head with a snicker. "You love me." He teased, basically just passing the time till the movie was started.

Dave let out another noise of frustration and tried to jerk the pillow away.

John stayed standing, away from the war zone.

Once the movie title screen was loaded, Bro finally let up on the pillow, letting it go so that Dave had it. "Just use it. It's big enough for both of you. And you know what'll happen if you try to hit me with it. So do yourself a favor and don't."

Dave Grumbled and put the pillow on the floor, allowing John to finally sit and get comfortable.

Rolling his eyes, he reached down and lightly ruffled Dave's hair before getting comfortable enough to look at the television screen, watching as Vivian climbed out of her window to avoid having to hand over her rent money to her landlord.

John was enraptured with the entire movie, maybe even sniffling at the end. "Hey, why don't we make some popcorn for the next one?" he asked, wiping his eyes. "I brought a couple bags of movie theater buttered"

Dave shrugged, having not paid that much attention to the movie, too on his guard against his brother. "What do you think Bro?"
