Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)

"Gonna let you in on a big, dark, dirty secret here," Dave murmured, leaning in close to John's ear so he could hear him whisper. "I've liked you for a while, Egbert. A long while." He then kissed him firmly on the cheek, turning back towards the eggs. "Now go tell Bro that breakfast's ready."

John gawked at Dave before biting his lip and nodding, hurrying from the room.

Dave found the plates on his first guess through the cabinets, taking three of them out and setting them on the table before heading back to the stove for the pan. After he managed to scoop the eggs on their plates single handedly, he grabbed the tray of bacon and set in in the middle of the table, setting two strips on his own plate.

John came back down alone, still nibbling his lip. "He says to come back later"

Dave snickered as he set a bottle of tobasco and a bottle of ketchup on the table between their plates, turning to look at John with a grin. "More for us." He went ahead and grabbed some forks to set beside each plate, pausing on his way back to the fridge. "You want anything to drink?"

"Just some water" John smiled

Dave got John a glass of water and a glass of milk for himself, setting them on the table as well. "Dig in," he murmured, grabbing a seat and helping himself to some of the bacon.

John took a seat and got some eggs first.

Dave wondered what Bro had to be doing up there if it was worth missing a home-made breakfast for, deciding he didn't really care since it meant more bacon for them. "So, how was Jake in the sack?" He asked finally, giving John a smirk.

John blushed darkly. "Really gentle and good" he replied. "He took extra care not to hurt me since it was my first time and everything."

"Good. Would've whooped his ass if he hurt you," Dave chuckled, grabbing the tobasco sauce and slathering his eggs in it.

"He was extra careful for me. He said he loves me" John blushed

"What's not to love?" Dave teased, taking a bite out of his eggs.

John grinned. "want to stay at my house tonight then?"

"Hell yeah, but I think I need to check with Bro first. He was talking about having us go furniture shopping some time. Not sure when though," Dave admitted.

"Okay, that's fine. You guys can use my car for that if you'd like, I don't mind" John smiled.

"Sweet. I'll let him know you offered," Dave grinned.

"If you didn't you' probably have to rent a truck or something right?"

"We still have the truck we used for moving here," Dave stated. "But your car might be more convenient when it comes to trying to find a parking space."

"I thought you took the truck back yesterday" John reminded

A week later, Dave and Bro had finally finished assembling their new furniture. To the thanks of John's truck, they were able to haul everything back to the house from Ikea, though the hardest part was getting everything put together, at least on Dave's part.

Dave breathed a sigh of relief as he flopped back onto his new bed, smiling to himself in the fact that he had an actual bed frame now and not a moldy old mattress raised on cinder blocks. "This bed is so fucking sweet, dude," Dave stated happily, making blanket angels as he stretched his arms and legs out across the bed.

Bro snorted from the doorway. "John just called, his Dad just got home, so if we bring his truck, we can stay for dinner"

"Are you serious?" Dave asked, lifting his head up in attention and raising his brows past his shades. He hadn't eaten Mr. Egbert's cooking in years, so of course he was pretty excited about, but he tried to take his eagerness down a notch and play off his initial reaction. "I mean, yeah, that'd be cool."

"Yeah I'm serious. It'll be nice to have a homecooked meal." Bro smirked. "And now that you know about me and Tav, I don't have to pretend to want in his pants anymore"

"Yes, you're very well situated in my friend's pants, thanks again for the reminder," Dave groaned.
