Karkat shook his head, nuzzling Dave back absently. He shifted so he could stretch out a little, accidentally knocking Bro off the bed.

Bro grunted with the impact, sitting up and rubbing a hand over his eyes with a groan. "Prolly deserved that" he rasped

Dave scooted over Karkat as best he could in the tangle of limbs to peer down at his brother. "Why were you sleeping in here, anyway?"

Dave watched his brother leave the room, guilt weighing him down from wanting to leave like Bro told him to. He couldn't believe Bro was that mad at him over a truck. He also couldn't believe that he had seriously considered taking Bro up on his 'proposal.' As much as he wanted to live on his own, he knew he couldn't really, just short of winding up homeless or forever limited to an infested, dinky apartment.

Karkat tilted his head and just stared at the appendages. He made no move to pull away, but after a few minutes his gaze turned from their hands to Dave's face questioningly.
