Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)

Dave stepped off the bed and gently hoisted Karkat up.

Karkat clung to him happily.

Dave carried Karkat out of the room, ignoring the noises behind them as he carefully descended the staircase.

Karkat purred and nuzzled him

Dave brought them to the kitchen and gently set Karkat down in a chair.

Karkat purred loudly and sat up straight. He sighed at Dave, asking what he was going to make.

"I'm gonna have to see what you guys have first," Dave admitted, leaving Karkat at the dinner table to search through the cabinets. "How does soup sound?"

Karkat let out a happy trill.

"You like minestrone?" Dave asked, shaking a can of said soup for Karkat to see.

Karkat shrugged, swinging his feet.

Dave started looking around for a pot to heat it up in. "It's good for you. Lots of veggies and beans and yummy noodles in it."

There was a muffled crash followed by a less muffled 'fiddlesticks'

"Pony boy, that you?" Dave asked out loud, flicking on the stove's burner beneath the pot he managed to retrieve from a cupboard.

Equius stuck his head into the room a moment later. "Strider?" he asked in surprise. "I was not informed of your arrival."

Dave turned around a bit so he could see Equius, nodding at him as a greeting. "Yeah, the LaLonde's must have forgotten to get out the trumpets and flag bearers upon our arrival."

Equius let out a thoughtful noise. "I will speak to them about this matter."

Dave chuckled as he opened the can of soup. "Yeah, thanks, man, you do that."

"You have not seen Nepeta yet have you?" Equius asked

"Nah, just Rose and Rose's mom," Dave answered.

"If you do, tell her I am looking for her" Equius stated

"Sure thing," Dave agreed. "You want some soup?"

"No thank you" Equius stated before leaving again.

Dave shrugged and poured the can in the pot, stirring away at it with a wooden spoon.

Karkat watched Dave, still smiling.

Once the soup was ready, Dave got out a couple of bowls and spoons, pouring a bit of minestrone into each before setting one of them down in front of Karkat.
