Jane stopped halfway through the yard and turned to look.

John paused halfway across the street with a snort.

A young man, slightly taller and broader than the boy, with orange hair but obviously related in some way, ran out in nothing but a pair of black skinny jeans. "Fucking Dammit Dave! Get your mother fuckin ass back here so I can beat the ever loving shit out of you! When I get my hands on you, there won't be anything left for Bro and Cal to ground!"

Dave spun around and stuck his tongue out. "Learn to take a joke, dude. It's just kool aid. It will wash out."

Jake was in the yard with Jane. He huffed as he turned to look at their new neighbors. "Hooligans."
Jade ignored them as she opened the jeep and grabbed a box to take inside.

"That was a thirty dollar bottle of shampoo you ruined!" The young man yelled, nearly slipping down the porch stairs. "Specialty for fine and thin blonde hair! This has stained my hair! Anything I try to get it out with will damage it!" He barreled after him with a growl. "Fucking prick!"

John snickered as he watched them.

Dave shrugged at his brother. "It's just shampoo, dude. I'll replace it."

Jake rolled his eyes as he turned to Jane. "Terrible manners."

John burst out laughing at the brother's antics.

Jane shook her head with a smile.

"Get back here you jackass!"

Jade shook her head as she went into the house.

Dave flipped Dirk off before running into the back yard.

Jake rolled his eyes again. "Do you need any help, Janey?"

"Just some help putting my bed together" Jane smiled

Dirk took off after Dave, slipping in the grass as he tried to round the corner. He didn't dare try and flashstep without shoes on, last time he had attempted, he had nicked a rock with his pinky toe and had to go to the emergency room.

"Wow, they're huge dorks." John shook his head as he continued to walk across the street. "Can't knock the classics though, good for him"

Jake grinned at her. "I can help with that!"

"Dad already put everything up in my room" Jane smiled.

Jake nodded at her. "Do you need help unpacking?"

"no, just some help with my bed. I can unpack everything tomorrow" Jane smiled

Jake nodded at her again. "Alright. Let's go put your bed together."

Jane took his hand and started leading him into the house.

John looked to Jade. "Do you want any help, or do you want me to just go ahead and help my dad?"

Jake grinned, eagerly squeezing Jane's hand. "Excellent! I get to help and spend time with one of my favorite girls in the world!"

Jade playfully rolled her eyes as she watched the other two. "I would appreciate the help since Jake ran off to play with Jane."

"Got it" John grinned, turning and going back across the street to help unload the jeep. "So what do you need help with besides the jeep?" he asked

Jade grabbed another box. "Just the jeep for now. Gramps said we can return our uhaul tomorrow or the day after since we got here so late."

"They got here before us with the trucks, what's their excuse?" John grinned playfully

Jade was walking towards her house. "Gramp's knees have been acting up. His back too. He can't do too much heavy lifting or standing."

"Has he actually been using his cane then?" John asked "I know he doesn't like to"

Jade let out a sigh. "Not as much as he should. I'm worried he's going to end up hurting himself. He's so damn stubborn."

"we could always threaten him with a walker" John suggested.

Jade smiled slightly. "I think he'll just threaten to whoop us."

"Point out that he may break his hip whooping you, or having crazy wild sex with a girl less than half his age" John teased

"I dare you to try saying that to him."

"Hahahahaha, I'm not that dumb!" John grinned. "Bet we can get my dad to say it though"
