Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)

"Not at all" John grabbed out a garment bag as well. "What room is it?"

"Just follow me," Dave instructed, turning back towards the building they came from. "Let the sultry sound of my voice lead the way."

John hastened to follow while Jake followed at a more leisurely pace. Bro brought up the rear.

Dave lead them back to the room, holding the door open for them as he stepped inside.

Jake and John stepped in, Bro taking the door from Dave and shutting it behind himself.

Neither boy commented on the lack of a second bed.

Dave set the helmet on a small table from across the bed. "Ya'll wanna set that shit on the bed?"

Jake and John smiled, doing as Dave asked, though the suit was taken by bro and hung in the closet.

Dave plugged the laptop into the nearest outlet. "You guys wanna take a seat while you're here?"

John plopped down on the bed next to him. "How's Karkat doing?" he asked

Jake sat on John's other side in a similar manner

"That's what we're gonna try and find out," Dave muttered, adjusting the webcam on his laptop after he fired it up.

"Gonna skype him now?" John asked in excitement.

"He probably isn't online, you might have to skype tav" Bro stated

"I'll skype tav then," Dave agreed as he typed in his password.

"He's probably with Karkat anyway" Bro stated, sitting on the other side of the bed from them."

"Probably," Dave agreed, waiting paitently for his laptop to warm up. "How was the trip?"

"Decent" Jake smiled. "Little boring. John wouldn't stop whining."

Dave was about to make a suggestion on how to keep John's mouth occupied, but he reconsidered with Bro in the room. "So pretty much like every trip with John?"

"I don't whine all the time!" John protested.

"You wanted to try and give me road head." Jake stated, totally unamused.

"And you refused?" Dave asked with a quirked brow, clicking on skype and signing in.

"There was a Highway Patrol vehicle behind us much of the way here" Jake stated

Dave lightly socked Jake in the shoulder as skype fired up. "Wuss."

Jake frowned at him. "I am not!"

John and Bro snickered.

Dave saw that Tavros was already online and had apparently sent him a handful of offline messages beforehand.

Dave hit the video call icon and waited. Although his exterior appeared to be completely passive, his heart was nearly beating out of his chest as he waited for Tavros to accept his call.

"I wonder what Karkat'll look like really human" John stated. "Do you think they kept the black hair, or changed it to a different color like Kanaya's?"

Jake shrugged. "I think Kanaya may just dye hers."

"Dunno," Dave mumbled between laced fingers pressed against his lips, too distracted to pay attention to what they were saying.

The call was finally accepted after a minute of Dave staring intensely at the screen and the video feed started recording. On the other camera, Dave could see a shirtless Tavros waving at a sluggish frame rate and a choppy giggle broke through the laptop's speakers. "Hey Dave! And, uh... John and Jack? No, Jake, right?" Tavros tilted his head closer to the screen, face scrunched up to identify the others beside Dave. "Is Bro there?"

Dave motioned towards where Bro was off camera. "Yeah, he's here. Where's Karkat?"
"In the bathroom. He should be out in a sec."

Bro shifted so he could lean over and smirk at Tav on screen. "Babe, as soon as you come back home, I'm replacing the camera in your laptop with a highdefenition one like the ones in mine and dave's"

John laughed. "Hi Tavros"

Jake just grinned.
