Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)

John laughed at them.

Dave nudged John. "What's so funny, Egbert?"

"Jake mostly" John admitted. "He's cute."

"That he is," Dave hummed with a smile. "You've got excellent taste in men."

"I like to think so" John admitted.

"Even if he's never heard of the Loony Tunes before," Dave chuckled softly, quieting down so that they could listen to the movie.

John nodded in agreement with a smile.

Once the Loony Tunes finally showed up, Dave tapped Jake's leg with his foot to get his attention and motion towards the television. "Take notes, Jake, because those are the guys we're giving you shit about."

"I don't have anything to take notes with" Jake replied

"Is this guy fucking serious" Bro groaned, hiding his face in the blanket.

"If my good arm wasn't wrapped around your boyfriend, I'd smother you," Dave teased. "You're just lucky you're so damn hot, though."

"You told me to take notes" Jake replied in confusion.

"Mental notes," Dave explained, "Not literally writing something down with pen and paper. I mean sure, class is always in session when Strider Sensei is around, but you're more likely to get pantsed than get an A if you have to write down everything we tell you."

"Oh" Jake replied sheepishly.

"Don't worry about it," Dave waved it off, focusing back on the movie. He was glad they had arrived before Bro went on a beer run, actually kind of preferring their company sober. He shouldn't have pressured Bro like that when it turned out that all he really needed was some time to feel normal again. That, and seeing Karkat again had managed to change his mood pretty spectacularly.

Jake smiled and turned back to the TV.

Dave lip synced to the Monstar's theme when it came on.

"You're such a dweeb Dave" John grinned.

"Good one," Dave snorted.

"I know you know all the words to that song" John smirked

Dave smirked right back. "You're a dweeb if you don't know the words to that song."

John grinned and looked to Jake. "Guess only one of us here is a dweeb then"

"You gonna take that?" Dave asked, looking in Jake's direction with a grin.

"I'll get him back later" Jake assured him.

Dave went back to watching the movie, conking out near the end on John's shoulder.

Jake got up. "I'll go get those sleeping bags" he smiled.

Bro nodded. "You and me'll sleep on the floor."
