Unspoken Attraction (Dave/Karkat)

"Honestly, I'll probably forget before I see them, if I see them" Jake admitted

Dave shrugged. "He might be waiting for a special occasion."

"I hope" Jake smiled "I didn't know he was into that"

"I might have persuaded him, a little bit," Dave admitted with a smirk.

"What do you mean?" Jake asked

"Forget it, not important." Dave rubbed the back of his neck. "You know what time it is?"

"Maybe seven in the morning" Jake replied

"Jesus, how are you and I even awake right now?" Dave chuckled.

"This is around the time I normally get up" Jake admitted

"Early bird?" Dave asked.

"Yes, force of habit I'm afraid." Jake smiled

Dave grunted, flopping back on the bed.

"What time do you normally get up?" Jake asked

"Before work." Dave stretched out on the bed.

"Where do you work?" Jake asked in interest.

Dave tilted his head towards Jake. "I work at the prestigious house of cake pans."

Jake looked at him in silence a few minutes. "Ihop?" he asked in confusion

Dave pointed at Jake. "Bingo."

"I thought it was the international house of pancakes" Jake replied

"It is, I was just..." Dave sighed. "Forget it."

"alright" Jake shrugged

Dave closed his eyes and left it at that. He was too tired and miserable to want to keep this going.

"going to go back to sleep?" Jake asked

"Not unless you've got a better idea to do around here," Dave grumbled.

"There's a three hour time difference between here and new york where Karkat is" Jake pointed out
