You Bleed Like Me (Karkat/Dave)

Karkat's face darkened and he let the door swing shut. He stood frozen for a minute before hurrying after Dave, mumbling a quick thanks. He moved to a good seat, leaving the dead center seat just for Dave.

Dave gave a quick look around, noticing they were the only two in there. But the movie didnt start for another ten minutes, so he figured at least one or two, if not more, people would show up. He took his seat beside Karkat, placing his sandwich in his lap. He took his cherry cola from Karkat's hand before sticking the trolls sandwich in it instead.

"Thank you" Karkat mumbled, doing his best and failing not to smile. The next ten minutes were passed in an awkward silence in which Karkat fidgeted nervously with his soda, but finally the lights dimmed further and the previews started.

Dave settled back in his chair, watching the previews for other movies as well as buying theater snacks such as candy or popcorn. Realizing he wouldn't need them in here, Dave reached up and slipped his shades off of his face, carefully pocketting them.

Karkat slouched down in his chair to get comfortable and opened up his sandwich. He felt less nervous now that Dave couldn't see him, but he could still see Dave. Night vision came in handy sometimes.

Dave opened his own sandwich, taking a bite. He raised his brows as he chewed, swallowing before he spoke. "Damn good sandwich."

Karkat made a noise of agreement as he chewed a bite of his. "There's a lot of good food places around here that are pretty affordable. For trolls and humans actually" he mumbled. "I think the majority of them are privately owned too"

He gave a light nod as he continued to eat, pausing to crack open his bottle and take a sip before resuming his eating. Soon the lights dimmed completely as the movie started playing.

Karkat hurriedly finished his sandwich so it wouldn't be distracting, shoving the trash into the bag it had come in and setting it on the floor between their feet so it would be out of the way. He payed rapt attention to the screen, holding his soda in both hands.

Dave was soon to follow, sticking the wrapper of his finished sandwich. into the bag before leaning back into the chair. He could see Karkat in his peripheral, noting how concentrated he was. He couldn't help but find it oddly adorable.

The movie was just how Karkat remembered it, and it still brought tears to his eyes. He actually forgot that Dave was sitting next to him as he started to blink back tears, a futile effort as the pink tinted fluid spilled over his cheeks and dripped off his chin into the black cotton of his hoodie.

Dave would occasionally glance over at Karkat, a spark of concern igniting in him only to remember who he was sitting next to. The guy was a big romantic sap when it came to movies. It caused him to smile, returning his gaze to the movie.

At the end, Karkat hastily wiped his eyes with a sleeve, hoping that Dave hadn't noticed. "Did you like it?" he asked with a little cough.

"It was better than I expected." He said with a smile. He looked over at Karkat, tilting his head a little before reaching over and gently wiping a stray tear from his cheek. "You really get into these kind of movies, don't you?" He said softly, not at all in a teasing manner.

Karkat frowned and pulled away. "No!" he defended with a pout. "I don't know what you're talking about." he looked away, sulking that he had been caught.

"Easy Karkat, I didn't mean any harm by it." He said with a small smile. "It's kind of cute really."

Karkat growled. "I am not cute." he hissed. "I'm a fucking troll. We don't do cute"

"If you say so." He said with a shrug. He forgot about that, the whole 'trolls aren't the same as humans as far as interacting' thing. He would have to watch what he said around the Cancer.

"I do say so!" Karkat grumbled. He paused after the statement. "Do you want to stick around for the second movie?" he finally asked.

"Sure." He said, looking up at the screen. "You said the next one is based off of a book, right? What's it about?"

"The first one was too. I've never actually seen the other movie, or read the book, but its called a walk to remember, I think. I'm pretty sure its another romance movie, the man writes almost nothing but." Karkat replied.

"So this will be a new viewing for both of us." He said, never having seen the movie.

Karkat nodded. "We should have five minutes or so before the next movie starts if you need to use the load gaper, or want popcorn"

"If you mean the bathroom, I'm good on that. Popcorn sounds good right about now though." He reached in his pocket, pulling out his shades for when they walked out to the concession stand. "Let me pay for it though. You've definitely paid me back enough for lunch."

"I don't like popcorn" Karkat stated. "Its a human thing, hurts most troll's teeth."
