You Bleed Like Me (Karkat/Dave)

"Does it?" He said before giving a hum of thought. "How's your sweet tooth then?"

Karkat let out a little hum. "I like sweets. so what?" He crossed his arms. "Don't buy me anything, I'm good"

"C'mon, you've spent a lot more on me than I did on you." He said, giving him a nudge. "Also, I won't leave you alone until you let me."

Karkat grimaced. "Fine, then you can pay me back by buying me coffee tomorrow. I'll need it after tonight." He looked over at Dave. "Okay? I really don't want any candy right now"

"Alright deal." He said, feeling satisfied. After a moment, Dave decided he was set for the night as far as food. He still had half a soda left, which was fine with him for now.

Karkat smirked and settled back for the start of the next movie.

Dave followed suit, but not before giving a lazy stretch. He grunted when his back popped a couple times before sitting straight, pocketing his shades since they wouldn't be leaving the viewing room.

The second movie was almost as good in Karkat's opinion. It still pulled a few tears from him, but he hastily wiped his eyes to clear the evidence.

The light sniffles didn't escape Dave's attention, but he kept it to himself this time. He watched the screen with actual interest, his fingers silently drumming on the arm rest.

When the movie ended, Karkat stood, gathering their trash from the floor. "Ready to head back?" he asked

He stood up, his hands automatically slipping into his pockets. "Mmhm."

Karkat yawned before starting out of the theater. He dropped their trash in a trash can and started towards the door to the outside. He was stopped after a minute by a loud "Hey!"

A different troll girl than the one that gave them their drinks waved to him cheerfully from behind the snack counter. "Mr. Grumpy Grub! We're doing a Will Smith tribute all next week starting monday!"

Karkat felt his face heat up. "That's not my name!" he snapped, though he was pleased she was alerting him about his favorite actor being played here.

Dave looked back at the female troll before looking at Karkat, trying to keep down a smirk. He noticed how adorable Karkat looked when he blushed. But he wouldn't dare mention that, lest he be mauled to death by the hot-headed troll.

"Well I wouldn't call you Mr. Grumpy Grub if you would actually tell us your name!" The troll giggled, making the shooing motion with her hands. "Have a good night! Hope to see your flush crush back with you next week!"

The troll's accusation had Karkat sputtering in rage, his face dangerously red under his gray skin.

Dave raised his brow at the comment. "Flush crush?" He repeated, looking down at the shorter troll. He would have figured that Karkat would have brushed it off, indicating he didn't have any sort of feelings like that for him but...this unexpected reaction proved otherwise.

The troll giggled again as Karkat spun on his heel and stormed out, letting the door slam shut behind him. Dave could find his own damn way to the bus stop for all he cared.

Whoa. That female troll just lit his fuse. Dave walked outside, his longer strides easily catching up with Karkat. However, he didn't say anything, not just yet. Anything he said would just make it worse. He'd wait until they were on the bus or maybe even at the campus.

Karkat stood fuming at the bus stop with his arms crossed. He shot little Glares in Dave's direction as he waited.

Dave could feel the mental daggers flying straight at him. He stood next to him, giving him a little space as they waited for the bus in silent tension. Dave almost considered offering to just walk back, his flash step easily taking care of the distance issue, but that would mean leave Karkat alone. And he wasn't about to do that.

Karkat finally sighed and dropped his arms to his sides. "Sorry, you didn't do anything. I shouldn't be mad at you."

"It's cool." He said, relieved that the tension was broken. "I can understand why you would be steamed at me. Whole basic concept that I was involved and caused assumptions." He looked at him now. "Right?"

"Not really. She just needs to keep her trap shut. She likes to poke fun at me for my taste in movies. Its something we argue about all the time." Karkat clarified. "I always come alone, so she's making assumptions."

Dave gave a sound of understanding, followed by a nod. He looked down the street, waiting to see the bus. "You know," he started "I wouldn't mind doing this again. Only next time, we'll break even rather than you paying for everything." He said with a light shrug. "If you want to, that is."

"Next week?" Karkat asked softly, looking up at Dave nervously. "I'm going to be coming every night"

"Sure." He said with a smile. The sooner the better, the human thought. He wouldn't mind the movies either. Will Smith wasn't that bad in his opinion.
