Hot for Strider (Karkat/Bro)

"Mom" Karkat replied simply, his voice sounding defeated.

"Ah," Jeff really didn't know what to say. He didn't remember his parents very well. He had left some as soon as he could. A decision he never regretted. He figured it would be best to not press the issue of the kid's mom any further.

Karkat sighed heavily and closed his eyes. "I just really miss her" he mumbled.

Jeff wraped his arm around Karkat's shoulder and pulled him to his side. His kissed the top of his head then nuzzled him. "Sorry dear. That's not much I can really do. I don't really know how that feels, I don't five two shits about my folks. I'm here for you though."

Karkat shifted so he could cuddle into Jeff's side.

Jeff wrapped his arm tighter around the smaller boy. He grabbed the remote and switched the tv back over to cable. "Sweet Bridezillas is on."

Karkat made a neutral noise and closed his eyes again.

About an hour later Dave walked into the living room. Jeff and Karkat were in the same place. Cal was also still on the couch. The older Strider was waving his right arm and shouting at the tv. "You're seriously watching Bridezillas?"

Karkat drowsily cracked an eye open to look at Dave before closing it again to attempt to go back to sleep. It was hard now that he actually had to listen to Jeff.

Jeff ignored him as he continued ranting at the tv. Dave went to stand by the end of the couch. "I think he's trying to sleep dude, mine taking it down a notch?"

Karkat yawned and shifted to get a little more comfortable.

Dave was trying not to glare at the older Strider. Why couldn't he just leave Karkat alone? He had ruin everything, didn't he?

Jeff chuckled before ruffling Karkat's hair. "Sorry little man. I'll tone it down. Only for you though."

Karkat grunted and reached across his lap to grab Cal and pull him to his chest. "I like this thing" he mumbled

Dave cringed as he watched Karkat grab Cal. Lil Cal would always be creepy, no matter how old he got. Jeff was smirking as he watched.

"S'soft. And comforting." Karkat sighed, tucking it under his chin and closing his eyes.

Jeff pulled his hat over his face as he started to laugh. Dave rolled his eyes at the older man. "You won't think that for too long."

Karkat hummed in disagreement.

Jeff was practically in hysterics now. He was laughing so hard is was making Karkat shake. Dave was glaring at the older Strider. He didn't think anything about this scene was funny at all.

Karkat growled in annoyance, sitting up to shove him.

Jeff stopped laughing and grabbed Karkat's arm. He was frowning at the younger boy. "Not cool kid. Loose the shitty attitude."

Karkat stood, pulling his arm out of Bro's hand. He walked around to the back of the couch and laid on the floor, curling up around Cal.

Jeff started to ignore Karkat as he turned up the volume of the tv and went back to screaming at it. Dave huffed as he went into the kitchen to get something to eat.

Karkat laid there in silence, curled around Lil'Cal on the scratchy carpet. It was no less quiet than the couch, but it was so much more uncomfortable.

Jeff rolled his eyes and sighed after a few minutes. The kid was so pathetic. He was cute though. Jeff turned the tv down and patted his lap. "C'mere kid."

Karkat grumbled softly, but got up and shuffled back around with Cal to lay back on the couch with his head on Jeff's lap.
