Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)

"Taking your room into account then qualifies you to be more pig than boy." Bro replied teasingly.

"Speak for yourself, Pigsty. I haven't seen the apartment this clean since..." Dave trailed off as he made the point to survey his spotless surroundings. "-fucking ever."

"Aren't you responsible for picking up around here?" Karkat asked, looking over at Dave now.

"Not the point," Dave muttered. "I clean up after myself, it's Bro who doesn't have to give a shit."

"I work, you do the chores" Bro replied. "That was the rule. Not my fault you only did the minimum"

"I still do them, though," Dave protested. "Can we go back to watching the movie?"

Karkat groaned in frustration. "Why? The acting in this movie is atrocious, much less the pitiful excuse they call directing."

"That's why it's such a classic. It's so bad, it's good," Dave explained.

Bro ruffled Dave's hair. "Sure thing kiddo." He ruffled Karkat's hair as well. "And I agree with Dave on the movie"

Karkat only continued to groan in displeasure, scrunching up his face in irritation over the Striders' tastes in movies. "The only good this movie serves is to educate young movie makers on what not to do when making a movie, e.g., hiring the worst actors in fucking existence."

Dave smirked in amusement. "Don't see no ball n' chain keeping you here, crab cat. If you don't wanna watch, you can go play on my computer or whatever it is you do that isn't getting plowed by my bro."

Bro looked to Karkat. "He's right. You don't have to stay here. You live here now, you can go where ever you want in the apartment"

"But..." Karkat struggled to argue with the obvious, practical logic of just leaving. His only excuse to stay was because of how much he had come to enjoy Bro's company and the warmth his body provided, which was lame and sappy and he certainly wasn't willing to try and elaborate on something like that to Dave.

"I guess I'll go write about how shitty your taste in movies are," Karkat grumbled, wiggling out of his seat next to Bro. This was not exactly an easy task considering the weight next to him that was leaving a heavy enough impression in the worn cushioning so that he kept getting sucked back in by the awkward slope.

Bro pulled him close to plant a kiss on top of his head before helping him up. "Don't hurt yourself" he smiled

Karkat tried not to gripe about how he could have gotten himself up without any help. Instead, he settled for storming off into Dave's room in a huff, annoyed that he lost his comfy spot beside Bro just because he couldn't stomach that horrible movie.

"As far as trolls go, I think you made a pretty good pick with him," Dave stated once he heard his door slam shut. "Despite the temper tantrums."

"The temper tantrums won't be any different than your tantrums, and I figure I deal with yours well enough." Bro shrugged.

"My hissy fits are rare. His aren't," Dave clarified.

"Yeah, but your hissy fits are much worse than his." Bro stated. "And since his are so frequent, they're less likely to get much worse."

"You clearly don't know him that well," Dave muttered, settling his gaze back on the movie.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Bro asked, raising a brow.

Dave shook his head. "Just forget it. I'm not talking shit about your boyfriend and I'm not gonna start."

Bro shrugged, honestly just having been curious about Dave's cryptic comment.

Dave rested his arm behind Bro, ruffling his hair in turn.

Bro smirked. "You'll do your best to get along with him won't you?"

"For you... sure," Dave assured him. "I won't touch his horns and I'll avoid strifing with him. How's that?"

"Don't go out of your way to upset him either" Bro stated

"I'll do what I can," Dave muttered. "You know, massage his wee little feetsies, read him bed time stories, the works."

"You don't have to go all out, just don't go out of your way" Bro snorted

"I don't have to, but maybe I just feel like giving his lil feet a rub down," Dave chuckled, elbowing Bro playfully.
