Provocation of a Fluke (Bro/Karkat)

Karkat came back out, hollering at Dave, "WHAT'S YOUR PASSWORD?"

"Check out the hint," Dave replied simply, looking over the futon towards Karkat.

"All it said was that it's something in your room," Karkat whined, slumping against the wall. "I already tried 'embalmed fetus' and 'cinderblocks'. Besides, why do you even have a password? Bro probably already knows what it is by now."

"I have a password because sometimes I like to pretend I got privacy," Dave stated with a shrug. "And the password's 'snoopy bitches.'"

"How the fuck was the hint supposed to help me guess that?" Karkat growled.

"Well, that's what you is if you go on my computer without my permission, and seeing as how you're in my room, going through my shit, that makes you a snoopy bitch," Dave chuckled.

Karkat sneered at Dave. "I wasn't even going to go through your 'shit'. You could not convince me to care about what I would find in your history and previous searches even if I was in them."

Dave shrugged again before turning back towards the TV. "I was thinking more along the lines of my photo bin, but whatever. Have fun."

Karkat was about to ask the obvious, but decided not to, already tired of Dave's bullshit. Instead, he flipped off the back of Dave's head and stomped back inside his room. However, the seed of curiosity had been sewn. What the hell was in Dave's photo bin? Should he care? No, no, he probably shouldn't. He didn't need to know, yet now he kinda of wanted to. That nooksniffer knew exactly what he was doing, making him think that there was some deep, dark, dirty secret in the photo bin. It'd probably turn out to be a prank.

Wait, wasn't that more along the line of what the Egberts were into? Then again, Bro set up traps around the apartment... who was to say that Dave hadn't set one up in this ominous file of photos?

Bro wapped Dave upside the back of the head. "You didn't have to plant the idea in his head, you already knew he was going to go in there to play on the computer, you told him he could" he stated.

"Yeah, I know, I was there," Dave murmured, rubbing the back of his head. "I guess I just want to see if he's any good at resisting temptation."

"Probably not when you wave it in his face like that" Bro replied

"You would know all about that," Dave teased.

"I do it to you because Its my job as your older brother to mess with you, and its my job as your guardian to teach you" Bro chuckled

Dave snorted. "Yeah, teach me how bad you are at fighting fair."

"I fight fair" Bro protested. "Its not my fault you suck"

Dave shook his head. "Actually, it kind of is your fault, considering you're the one training me."

"You wouldn't suck if you learned faster" Bro snickered

Dave smirked. "Spoken like a true, shitty teacher."

"I went easy on you most of the time too"

Dave's smirk faded. "My self esteem is soaring, thanks."

"When you were younger anyway" Bro shrugged. "Can't really go easy on you now though. you know too much"

"But not enough to stop sucking, apparently," Dave muttered, already discouraged. He wondered sometimes whether Bro was really going all out when they fought these days or if he was just putting on an act to make him feel better.

That was when a startled squawk and a thud erupted from Dave's room, causing the younger Strider to regain his smile once again. "Looks like he's a curious lil fella."

Bro rolled his eyes. "What did you even get him to look at anyway?"

"You'll know when you look through my photo bin," Dave replied, nudging Bro with his elbow.

"I don't think I want to" Bro snorted.

Dave shrugged. "Eh, it's not that bad, unless you're squeamish, which I guess Karkat is in this case."

"Dead things in the park?" Bro asked, raising a brow.

"And the sidewalk," Dave chimed in. "Although, those are a little harder to identify."

Bro nodded. "Understandable."

Dave hummed in agreement, settling back against the futon and watching the rest of the terrible movie with Bro.

"If he's really bothered by it, he'll come back out"

Dave shook his head. "I doubt that. Little guy's got too much pride to let me see him scared shitless."
