Dave nodded with another hiccup.

Dirk nuzzled him lightly. "You don't need John."

Dave sniveled and started crying again.

Dirk huffed again, getting agitated.

Dave clung to Dirk tightly, trying to stop his crying, knowing Dirk hated when he cried.

Dirk nuzzled him again. "Nap."

Dave nodded with a hiccup, his tears nearly already stopped again.

Dirk snorted and shifted. "Don't be a fag Dave."

Dave whimpered and let go of Dirk, scooting away from him and rolling over to get out of the bed.

Dirk huffed again. He rolled onto his side, roughly yanking a blanket over himself. "Of course John is more important than I am."

Dave got up out of bed and shuffled to the closet.

Dirk let out a sniffle, not actually crying. He wanted Dave's attention and sympathy. He was prepared to fake crying if it meant that's what it took. "Sorry I'm not John. You love him more than me."

Dave slid the closet door open with a hiccup. He shuffled in, keeping his back to Dirk, and closed the door behind him. He wasn't going to let Dirk see he'd started crying again. He was biting his bottom lip so hard it was a surprise he wasn't bleeding.

Dirk got up, stomping over to the bedroom door, He made sure to slam it as hard as he could when he left,

Dave sobbed once he heard the door slam. Dirk hated him. He thought Dave was worthless, he didn't love him anymore.

Dirk slammed the front door as he left. Jake would give him attention. Jake always gave him attention whenever he wanted it. And sex. And right now he wanted both from Jake.

At the moment, Jake was just getting back from block buster. He'd been thinking nonstop since Dirk left that morning, and he just wanted to take his mind off of what he wanted to do.

Dirk was walking up the sidewalk as Jake pulled into the driveway. He put on a neutral expression as he approached his best friend's jeep. He already knew exactly what he was going to tell the other boy.

Jake honestly looked surprised when he saw the other boy as he climbed out of the jeep. "I thought you had better things to do today?" he asked, internally berating his horrible sense of luck and Dirk's impeccable timing.

Dirk frowned at him and crossed his arms. "I never fucking said that. I said I needed some god damn space and time to myself. I even said I'd be back later."

"You said you might be back later." Jake replied. "Usually you don't come back. Usually you just stay home with Dave and don't need me" He grabbed his bag from the seat and shut the door. "I just went and got a couple movies to keep myself occupied tonight. You can stay and watch them with me if you want, but I'm not particularly in the mood for much else."

Dirk was scowling now. "I fucking said I was coming back. I just need some fucking attention now and you're being a huge asshole." He stomped a foot in frustration. "Jeff and Dave are fighting about something stupid and I don't want to go back."

"You're more than welcome to stay and watch movies with me." Jake replied, heading towards the front door.

"I want more than that."

Jake sighed before squaring his shoulders. "Talk about it inside then."
