You take my breath away. (Jake/John)

Jake sighed and pushed himself up.

John went quiet as he went back to the kitchen.

Jake followed him.

John sat at the table, quickly making his own plate. He was upset and agitated now. He just wanted to eat breakfast, then maybe curl up with a jar of frosting in front of a good movie.

Jake stopped in the doorway. "Is everything alright John?"

"I'm fine. Just hungry."

"You don't seem fine" Jake stated. "Are you still upset with me?"

"I said I'm fine." John's patience was short today. "Stop asking such dumb questions Jake. Jeez. Just shut up and eat." His own plate was piled high with crepes and whipped cream. The bowl he had nearby had five hard boiled eggs with lots of salt and pepper. Dad would probably have a stroke if he saw how much his son was eating. Eating reliefed stress. it wasn't John's fault food made him feel better.

Jake sighed. "I'm not very hungry" he mumbled. "I'm going to go lay back down" he turned and started to shuffle away.

John was silent as he started to eat. Maybe he should just tell Jake to go home. He'd be fine until Jane got home. Besides, right now the younger Egbert didn't want company. He just wanted to be by himself.

Jake laid back in the nest they had made with a sigh. All this stress and arguing had him feeling under the weather.

John had eaten all of his breakfast after twenty minutes. Wanting more he reached over and took Jake's bowl of eggs. "Fuck it," he mumbled. If Jake was hungry he would have eaten by now. Besides the older boy could make himself more food if he was hungry.

Jake turned the tv on, the volume on low as he laid on the floor.

John finished the eggs in ten minutes. His stomach gurgled quietly, begging for more food. He got up to take his plate and two bowls to the sink. After that he went over to the baking cabinets. John put his hands on his hips as he inspected the contents of the pantry. Lemon, Milk chocolate, cherry, cream cheese...none of those sounded appetizing. He started to search as he moved icing jars around. "Yes." He pulled out a jar of butter pecan.

Jake eventually fell back asleep.

John went straight to his room after selecting his icing. Hopefully Jake wouldn't be too mad at him. But right now he just wanted to be by himself.

Jake slept for an entire hour, and felt no better when he woke up. In fact, he felt worse.

John was still in his room after an hour passed. He had finished the first jar of icing in twenty minutes. Now he was working his way through a jar of strawberry icing as he watched 2 Fast 2 Furious. Jake had probably left by now.Part of John was glad but another part of him wanted to cry. At this rate all the icing would be gone and Dad would be mad when he got home. He was pretty sure his father had caught on to the fact that he ate when he was upset. That probably didn't make him to happy.

Jake got up and quickly stumbled to the bath to be sick.

John had just curled up when he heard retching from his air vent. It sounded like it was coming from the downstairs bathroom. He set the icing aside before quickly getting up and heading downstairs.

There wasn't anything in his stomach yet the bile kept coming. Jake was on his knees by the toilet, gripping the bowl with shaking hands as he heaved.

John knocked on the bathroom door. "Jake?"

Jake coughed and heaved again.

"Jake?" John knelt by him. "Are you okay? What's wrong?"

"I'll be alright" Jake croaked with a watery smile. He swallowed hard.
