Hot for Strider (Karkat/Bro)

Dave tilted Karkat's head up slightly and pressed his lips to the other boy's. "Stop saying that. You made a few mistakes, sure. But everyone messes up once in awhile. You're not a fuck up."

Karkat looked at Dave with half lidded eyes. "M'sick. You're gonna get sick too"

Dave only smirked before kissing him again. "Worth it."

Karkat made a little noise and pushed half heartedly on Dave's chest. "Not worth it" he mumbled

Dave slipped his right arm under Karkat. He kissed his forehead. "It is. But I don't want to do anything you don't want to."

Karkat hummed, tucking his head under Dave's chin. "S'ill not worth it"

Dave nuzzled the top of his head and sighed. "It's you. To me, you're worth more than you'll ever know. I love you Karkat."

"No you don't" Karkat mumbled. "ev'ryone that loves me leaves me alone in the end"

"That's totally uncool," Dave wrapped his arm tighter around the other boy. "Cool people like me don't abandon friends. And you're too important to me to lose. Whether you like it or not I'm here to stay. You'll just have to deal with me for the rest of your life."

Karkat hummed softly almost in disbelief. "I still don't feel good" he mumbled.

Dave nuzzled the top of his head and sighed. "Go to sleep. We can discuss feelings and other unironic things in the morning."

"It is morning" Karkat replied

"Morning, afternoon," Dave was grumbling as he patted Karkat's face. "Point is we'll talk later. Now is time for a nap."

"Can there be soup later?" Karkat asked, tucking his head farther under Dave's chin.

"All the soup you can eat." Dave chuckled and kissed the top of his head again. "Now get some sleep."

Karkat nodded with a soft sigh. He easily drifted into a half sleep, curled against Dave.

A few hours later Dave woke up. He climbed over Karkat. He stretched and yawned. Maybe he did have a chance with the younger boy. He kissed his cheek before heading out into the living room. Jeff was playing a racing game with Cal. "How is he?"

"He's getting better. He's sleeping better."

Karkat sleepily opened his eyes. He dragged himself out of bed and to the bathroom.

Jeff was still playing the xbox when Karkat got up. Dave was eating a bowl of cereal at the table. He was watching the older Strider lose to a puppet. He started to laugh as Jeff ended up in 2nd and Cal got first.

"Hey cutie. Feel any better?"

Karkat gave a grunt, shutting the door behind him.

"Nice kid," Jeff commented. Dave glared at him from the table. "Keep your dick in your pants. Jeez, give him some space."

Karkat came back out a few minutes later, wiping his hands dry on the shirt he was wearing. "Time is it? Fuck, what day is it?" he asked, his voice still hoarse.

Jeff let out a laugh after Karkat spoke. "This kid is great. Finally, good to see you're feeling better kid." Dave ignored Jeff and looked at Karkat.

"It's Sunday Kar. It's about 4 pm. Why?"

Karkat let out a sigh of relief. "Conical visits to my dad are on Mondays" he replied "I don't like to miss them"

"Need a ride," Jeff asked. "To the prison I mean. Of course, I can give another ride too." Dave snarled and threw his spoon across the room. The older Strider cackled and moved out of the way.

"Keep your damn dick in your pants Jeffery."
